Day 1 – Fly to Oslo
Your holiday begins as you fly overnight from Australia to Oslo.
Days 2-3 – Oslo – Hotel Stay
Oslo, the vibrant capital of Norway, seamlessly combines modernity with natural beauty. The city boasts an impressive array of museums, including the iconic Munch Museum and the Viking Ship Museum, showcasing Norway’s rich history and culture.
Day 4 - Flåm - Hotel Stay & Tour
Embark a high-speed train to Myrdal, where you’ll experience the iconic Flåm Railway, one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Your 20-kilometre journey to Flåm affords views of spectacular nature, historical cultural landscapes, and spectacular engineering.
Day 5 – Flåm - Tour & Bergen Hotel Stay
Following breakfast, you’ll continue your adventure with a boat journey affording outstanding vistas en route to Gudvangen. From this pretty village, you’ll savour a scenic fjord cruise through Nærøyfjord, before travelling to Bergen, where you’ll spend two nights.
Day 6 – Bergen – Hotel Stay
Bergen is a charming medieval city, gateway to the majestic Norwegian fjords. Explore the historic harbour district of Bryggen, home to multi-coloured houses, seek out the ornate wooden Fantoft Stave Church or savour a traditional Bergen speciality of fiskesuppe.
Day 7 – Bergen – Embark Ship
Embark on a remarkable expedition cruise along Norway’s coastline. Combining luxury with adventure, MS Nordkapp promises an unforgettable journey, with many of her cabins perfectly situated to enjoy the breathtaking Arctic views.
Day 8 – Ålesund
As you continue north, you’ll call at Ålesund, renowned for its beautiful art nouveau architecture. Come evening, you’ll arrive in Molde, known as the ‘City of Roses’ due to its sprawling gorgeous gardens.
Day 9 – Trondheim
Discover vibrant Trondheim, home to the impressive Nidaros Cathedral, with a fascinating walking tour before setting sail again this afternoon. Pass the beautiful Kjeungskjær lighthouse and numerous islets and rocky outcrops before calling at Rørvik.
Day 10 – Bodø - Stamsund
Today, you’ll cross over into the Arctic Circle for your best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Marvel at Bodø’s natural harmony before reaching Stamsund, where you can immerse yourself in Viking life at Lofotr Viking Museum.
Day 11 – Tromsø
Among your onshore stops today will be Tromsø, the perfect place to enjoy typical local activities including skiing, dog sledding and whale safaris. You’ll also get a fantastic opportunity to witness more of those ethereal Northern Lights.
Day 12 – Honningsvåg
Honningsvåg is the gateway to the spectacular North Cape. Take an excursion to the North Cape plateau, for an exciting snowmobile trip through enchanting scenery, and learn how the local Sámi people use nature to survive.
Day 13 – Kirkenes
The wintry landscape in Kirkenes is perfect for snowmobile and dog sledding adventures. This is the turning point in your Hurtigruten cruise, as you now commence your return voyage back to Bergen.
Day 14 – Hammerfest
As you continue south, enjoy spectacular scenery and historic landmarks at ports including Mehamn, where you could join a snowmobile expedition, and Hammerfest, the polar capital of Norway.
Day 15 – Svolvær
The island groups of Lofoten and Vesterålen offer some of the most stunning scenery you’ll encounter as you sail into Stockmarknes, the birthplace of Hurtigruten. Next, you’ll reach Svolvær, passing huge mountains and granite cliffs.
Day 16 – Brønnøysund
Today you’ll sail past mountain ranges with unique formations that have inspired many myths and legends. The Seven Sisters are allegedly the daughters of a Troll king who escaped his strict control until daylight turned them to stone.
Day 17 – Trondheim
Today you’ll get another opportunity to explore the city of Trondheim before sailing through the majestic Trondheimsfjord, Norway’s third longest fjord. In Kristiansund, you’ll get a sense of the importance of the fishing industry to Norway’s coastal communities.
Day 18 – Bergen - Disembark Ship & Hotel Stay
Today you’ll get your final glimpses of the Norwegian Fjords and the wildly beautiful coastlines, before arriving back in Bergen.
Days 19–20 – Copenhagen – Hotel Stay
Today you’ll fly to Copenhagen, a city which boasts a treasure trove of late-Renaissance and Rococo architecture. See the fabled statue of Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid, and stroll along the old harbour of Nyhavn.
Days 21-22 – Copenhagen – Fly Home
Your holiday complete, today you’ll head to the airport for your overnight flight home.
